伦敦时间4月21日晚，2016 “索尼世界摄影奖” 揭晓。索尼世界摄影奖（Sony World Photography Awards, 简称SWPA）由索尼于2007年携手世界摄影组织（World Photography Organization，简称WPO）联合发起，旨在展现影像文化并搭建世界级摄影交流平台。自举办以来，该赛事累计收到参赛作品总数已超过100万幅，成为规模最大、最具影响力的国际顶级摄影比赛之一，被誉为摄影界的奥林匹克。
2016年索尼世界摄影奖共设置5大组别：专业组、公开组、青少年组、专业学生组，和国家地区专项奖。本届大赛共收到186个国家的摄影师的231103 幅 （组）投稿，其中有7位中国摄影师入围专业组奖项。获奖作品将于4月22日—5月8日在伦敦萨默塞特宫展出。
